"Winter project"
The carbs are done, also replaced the rear wheel bearings and sprocket carrier bearings. Installed a "super light" sprocket. Checked timing, replaced a lot of engine gaskets, have replaced almost 100 bolts! Replaced the fuel shut off's, air filters and installing new fuel lines.
Next...finish the throttle and choke cables (waiting for parts), install new shocks and paint the chain guard. Replace center stand, side stand and brake lever springs and continue cleaning and detailing.
Is it spring yet?

There was an electric start option for this bike. It was "CHAIN DRIVE"! The option added 40 pounds to the bike.

Yes. It was called the GTE (E for electric) and also came with twin discs on the front. I had a 1975 model - it came in metallic green. I bought it in 1978. I actually removed the starter because it was humongous and heavy, and kick starting seemed to suit the bike. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well the bike handles. This is a pic of the model I had.

I think you're right about that. I'm way ahead of schedule and I'm doing more than I planned to do. Working on it has become an obsession, I work on it early in the morning and even late at night, that's easy to do when it's in the house.

You can see through the slots, but the view will be restricted.
