The Big Sky Motorsports counter guy commutes year round in Missoula. I have read of and seen others. They seem like rational people and have the miles on snow and ice to prove it. Jeeze, do I have to put on my big boy pants and suit of armor to do it myself (while my wife isn't watching)?

Yes, the challenge is still:

I have a generator and propane heater onboard, but the house batteries are bad and the heater stops working at the coldest time. also, my water heater stopped An electric heater wont work for the same reason. Ive been getting by on pure solar power. I dont want to buy new house batteries, because theyre expensive, and Ive gone way over my battery budget this year. Ill just keep plugging holes until I can barely breathe, then ill be warm maybe. Try a snowbike and report?

Right now we have no snow but I’m open to the challenge if we get any, I’ve done it before.
These are old pictures from last winter so it doesn’t qualify but I rode about 50 miles that day on somewhat snowy roads

I could participate if I were in my childhood hometown of Buffalo New York.

But now I'm near Atlanta, Georgia and we only get a dusting of snow once a year.

I'm also a newbie to using full sized motorcycles on paved roads, so I'll have to sit this one out even if we do get an inch or two of snow down here.

( but I am following this thread and I hope to participate in some future challenge.)

Obligatory reminder of current challenge:
Your bike on a trip through the snow.

Glad to have more people involved.

One of the rules is to repeat the current challenge any time you post on this thread, so folks don't need to go searching backwards to find it.

Does snow by the side of a dry road count? Maybe next week.
In my opinion one would have to park in the snow on the side of the road to count it... would not be as 'Hardy-Biker' as those who undertake commutes and such on snow covered roads, but it would fit within the definition... enabling us to move on to those sunny beach photos everyone but me seems to easily be able to get.

I took my Sportsman (snow plow) a mile down the canyon for refueling (before I chain up for the season).

Wind chill tore at my bare face, though I stayed below 20mph.

I don't count this as an answer to the challenge 1: because it is me and 2: because I count twice as many wheels as I was intending.

The traction was good enough I could have handled a bike in it, but my 325-pound Suzuki is in surgery to become a more comfortable height and my 550-pound BMW would make me nervous in these conditions.

I apologize for making the challenge overly challenging. I did not anticipate this correctly.

I don't find it too challenging either, it just has not snowed here since you posted it, and I didn't have time for a road trip to Buffalo during the busy season at work.
I could have done "my bike next to a frozen puddle that I had to be careful to stay away from" a few cold mornings though :)
I'll keep looking for an opportunity to get a picture of

We should’ve probably hit our Canadian friends up on this one back in OCTOBER. 🤣🤣
