Lets hope they all show up.

In Bages France, Shirley standing in for my bike. 1914 - 1918 memorial.

In Elne France, a 14 - 18 memorial with the lady statue.

Between Bages and Elne, the building served as a maternity hospital from 1939 to 1944. It was a private residence.

Warren County, NJ War Memorial, at the County Seat courthouse in Belvidere.
There is a tablet dedicated to the county's dead from each war from WW1 on, with an ominous blank one for the next war I guess?
I also chose not to disrespect the memorial by riding on the sidewalk so that is as close as I could get the bike.

The High Ground in Neillsville, WI.

Korean War Memorial in foreground, with Honor Ride participants still rolling in the background...yes my bike is parked back there somewhere.

For the next challenge, I'd like to mirror the Memorial Day challenge from last year, but change it just a little.

Your bike in front of a memorial or marker for a specific war or battle . Obviously, the first picture wins, but I'd like to let this challenge run through the weekend until we cover as many conflicts as we can.

Just realized I posted the first pic for the last challenge so here's the next challenge: Your bike in front of a "Welcome to (town of your choice)" sign. Can NOT be the official green government sign... has to say "Welcome to...."

This is an easy one everybody should be able to take a shot at. ;)

New Challenge;
A picture of your bike at your workplace!

My thinking is to make this challenge a take your bike to work day, so all of you who don't commute on your bike regularly can give it a try, who knows, you might like it.

Sorry retired folks, you miss out on this one.

This sign is all of 2 blocks from my house, it was a very short ride to get it.

Funny story... When I thought to get this one I actually rode about a mile to the other side of town where I knew there was a welcome sign, only to realize that it was an unsafe spot to stop, on a curve, with no shoulder and a guardrail right at the roads edge I didn't chance it. That sign is actually old and beaten up and kind of overgrown with weeds anyway, though I do have to say it's an interesting sign depicting the towns slate mining history.

On the way back I realized there was a nice new sign right in town at the town park...

 Exactly what I had in mind, Mike! (Nice pic, too!)

This would be too easy since I live where I work, even though I'd have to roll the bike over to the shop about 100 feet away, so I'll sit this one out. That way I can see someone else's workplace.

I'm with Metaldoc. My workplace is in my living room, so I'll let someone else have a go at it.

Retired folks work around the house you know. So I will sit this one out as well. I could ride to where I used to work for money :)

No it's not easy! The only sign I know of like that in my town is on
the center island of busy 4 lane highway 15! If you stop there and survive,
you'll probably end up with a ticket from the police!
NOT the place to stop and take a picture!

Hey... methinks you're upset at the wrong challenge! ;)

Mike got the ''Welcome to" challenge. Most of the welcome signs I've seen would be relatively easy to get although I'll agree some are not. Anyway the current challenge is your bike in front of your place of work and it runs out today. :icon_cool:
