Motorcycle Picture Challenge....

565808 Views 7770 Replies 252 Participants Last post by  Heartbroken
We did this on another bike forum and it was fun. The intent is to get out and ride to complete the challenge before someone else does. All you need to do is take a picture of your bike with the challenge item in the background.

The rules here are simple. Be sure to note them before creating the next challenge for the rest of us.

1 - Has to be YOUR motorcycle.
2 - Picture has to be taken after challenge is made.
3 - Challenge is good for 2 weeks, if it is not met, the previous picture poster picks a new challenge.
4 - Nothing illegal to be challenged.
5 - Keep comments to a minimum, if you comment, post the current challenge after your comment. In Bold Italics
6 - No repeat challenges.
7 - All challenges must be of your bike and a landmark, something most people can ride to or find in their area.
8 - No other bikes can be used in a challenge, ie. your bike next to a Ducati. Some exceptions allowed, ie. you bike next to a bike cop.
9 - All challenges can be removed by moderators. At which point the postee of the challenge will be asked to change his current challenge. After being asked once and there is no change or challenger posts another crapy challenge then the prior challenge winner will pick a new one.

Examples - "Your motorcycle in a garage", "Your motorcycle crossing a river", "Your motorcycle with no engine", "Your motorcycle next to a firetruck" etc. Doesn't need to be a fancy picture, cell phones, whatever works.

Thanks guys. Remember, this thread is supposed to get guys to WANT to go ride right away and beat your friend to the picture challenge, be creative, but have limits. Thanks.

First Challenge:

Your bike in front of a sporting goods store.

oh wait a lot of businesses have Halloween decorations up and they all have parking lots the public is welcome to pull into.

I could participate if I were in my childhood hometown of Buffalo New York.

But now I'm near Atlanta, Georgia and we only get a dusting of snow once a year.

I'm also a newbie to using full sized motorcycles on paved roads, so I'll have to sit this one out even if we do get an inch or two of snow down here.

( but I am following this thread and I hope to participate in some future challenge.)

Obligatory reminder of current challenge:
Your bike on a trip through the snow.

From Post #1, list of rules:

3 - Challenge is good for 2 weeks, if it is not met, the previous picture poster picks a new challenge.

"Your bike on a trip through the snow" was named on Nov. 19th.
Tomorrow it expires if not met.

Oh, so the person who picked the "failed" challenge doesn't get to try again?
It reverts back to the author of the last SUCCESSFUL challenge that was fulfilled in time?
(Which was Max's "Your Bike With Something Warm")

Current challenge: to be determined

I think "B" fits the actual wording of the rules because it refers to the "previous challenge" not the just-failed challenge but the previous challenge meaning the one that was successfully completed.

But, I think scenario "A" is simpler to understand and to apply in the real world, so if we're gonna change or clarify the rules I would go with "A" and let the originator of the non-completed challenge try again by naming something else that is easier to find.

P.S. A person who issues a pic challenge, watches it get successfully completed, and then announces the winner, may not follow this thread anymore! That poster may feel free to take a break and not pay attention to what's happening here, and might not be ready to step up and issue another challenge if the current one fails in 2 weeks.

Plant Twig Wood Trunk Tree

But not like this Buell, which was launched through the air and got stuck in the branches of a tree when its rider failed to negotiate a curve and it bounced through a drainage ditch.

That thing stuck 15 feet above the ground in the trees branches!

I was planning on going to either a church or a private school to get a picture of my bike with a wreath,
because surprisingly I did not see any wreaths on any public government buildings around my town.

Mike 721, good pics. I like the big and bright tail lights your bike has!

My ride has minimalistic rear lights, having been replaced by some prior owner. I am not really comfortable riding after dark for that reason.

current challenge: TBD by Mike721.

Now I've gotta Google a "gnome garden"
to see what one looks like.

I've seen folks' front yards that have one or maybe two gnomes for decoration, but not more than that.

EDITED TO ADD: Did you know somebody sells a lady biker gnome??

Just a garden gnome.

Cutesy trolls

I seek a garden gnome.

Can't ride far,
looked close by
with my bike and car.

Found ce-ment
rabbits, and...
... toads and turtles too!
But of gnomes,
there were none.
Seems this search is through.

I drove past an old Huey in front of an
army-navy surplus store last night in my car, but with the weather here in Georgia being rainy I couldn't have come back to it on 2 wheels to grab the photo until Friday or Saturday anyway.

Roger C60, damn that was fast!
You went out and snagged two photos that satisfied the current challenge,
just a couple of hours after the challenge was posted!?!

Great pic, for a general "cool photos" thread... but it doesn't match what we're searching for now. PS so that's a brushfire or forest fire in the background, eh?
I drove my cage past one of those it was kind of scary because I didn't know how many hundreds of yards are even miles of forest were burning. Turns out it was about half a mile worth of fire just a few yards away from the road but the road was open and traffic kept going past in both directions.

CURRENT CHALLENGE:
Your bike and a small Mexican restaurant,
a mom and pop place.
Wouldn't that be a Mama and Papa place?

The auditorium was too crowded to get my bike down the aisle.
