Wait!
It just so happens that I never once saw, or maybe just never knew what this thread was so I never clicked on it.
Anyway it looks like fun and it probably would get me to go out for a ride if the challenge is something I can, and would want to accomplish. (Not doing any big city stuff, sorry).
I might want to try one that doesn't involve a bunch of cages trying to run me over though.

Don't change it now! I just found this game.

So the next challenge is a pic of MY bike in front of a nasty steel grated bridge. Right Mike?
Drat ! ... I don't even know where to find one of those anywhere around here.
I'll wait and see what comes up next.
I have a challenge in mind for you guys. (If I can meet a challenge, then get a turn that is). :D

The Gold Star Mother, a notable woman. A statue representing every parent that has lost a child to war.
There is a war memorial at a county seat about 40 miles south of Houston.
Made for a nice afternoon / evening ride.
I had to roll the bike down a sidewalk (not ride) to get this pic. This is as close as I could get the bike to make sure I did not damage the nice marble like area where the statue is located.
It made for a sobering evening, thinking of how mothers like mine lost, and still lose, loved ones to war.

Well done, challenge has been met. Your up!
Thanks Guys,

There are visitors centers, safety areas, welcome centers and such all along the major interstates, and probably other roadways too.
A pic at one of those will not be the challenge.

On what you might call secondary roads or maybe even back roads there are what we, here in Texas, know as "picnic areas".
If I remember correctly these "picnic areas" in Texas used to be called road side parks, then rest areas, now picnic areas.
There are no restrooms or vending machines at these so called picnic areas. Many have Very Old concrete tables with benches, just about all have some sort of grill that you can cook on. Some of the grills are nice, but old, brick pits. Many are very nostalgic looking places with plenty of beautiful trees or nice scenery to enjoy while you take a break while traveling. Some are nothing more than a pull in with park benches at tables.

The challenge is a pic of your bike, at a type of area similar to described above, with the table in the background.

Triple bonus points if it is picturesque....

Your bike next to a national park/forest sign.
I think you got that on a technicality Mike. I was looking up where the nearest National PARK was because I thought they were few and far between in Texas and I'm right. Only 4 sites in Texas has the word PARK in it's name.
National Forest was also the challenge.
In East Texas you can't sling a dead cat without it landing in a National Forest.
There is a sign beside the road naming the next national forest you are about to enter.

I think he was still here when you joined. But use the search above. Look for Wade Nelson, which leads to several threads. Try, Whats up with that. Looking at that thread will show some members who are MIA. Dods, Angel, Soupy and others.
I remember him, just don't know why they're mentioning him now. Somebody must have said something Wade like I'm guessing.

I agree with Semi, could be anything under the cover :) the challenge is still open.
No, Pretty sure that's a B B Q. :ROFLMAO:  ;)

About 20 ~ 30 miles from here there was this country boy that was building a shrimp boat in his side yard.
No really, it's true.
I'll ride down that way to see if it is still there. It's been over ten years ago that I saw it so it might be in the water by now but it'll make for a ride at least.
