Motorcycle Picture Challenge....

We did this on another bike forum and it was fun. The intent is to get out and ride to complete the challenge before someone else does. All you need to do is take a picture of your bike with the challenge item in the background.

The rules here are simple. Be sure to note them before creating the next challenge for the rest of us.

1 - Has to be YOUR motorcycle.
2 - Picture has to be taken after challenge is made.
3 - Challenge is good for 2 weeks, if it is not met, the previous picture poster picks a new challenge.
4 - Nothing illegal to be challenged.
5 - Keep comments to a minimum, if you comment, post the current challenge after your comment. In Bold Italics
6 - No repeat challenges.
7 - All challenges must be of your bike and a landmark, something most people can ride to or find in their area.
8 - No other bikes can be used in a challenge, ie. your bike next to a Ducati. Some exceptions allowed, ie. you bike next to a bike cop.
9 - All challenges can be removed by moderators. At which point the postee of the challenge will be asked to change his current challenge. After being asked once and there is no change or challenger posts another crapy challenge then the prior challenge winner will pick a new one.

Examples - "Your motorcycle in a garage", "Your motorcycle crossing a river", "Your motorcycle with no engine", "Your motorcycle next to a firetruck" etc. Doesn't need to be a fancy picture, cell phones, whatever works.

Thanks guys. Remember, this thread is supposed to get guys to WANT to go ride right away and beat your friend to the picture challenge, be creative, but have limits. Thanks.

First Challenge:

Your bike in front of a sporting goods store.

I have an Aermotor windmill out back, but bike is still covered up sitting in the garage... guess I could push it out the back door and take a pic.
Bike in front of windmill

Here ya go... If this is acceptable, next challenge is your bike in front of a Caterpillar piece of equipment... has to be Caterpillar brand.

Cool! It's really tall.
The tower is 50 feet tall... built it myself to match Aermotor specs, so that part is only about ten years old... a little less than a few centuries. ;)

So, no one is able to find some Caterpillar heavy iron? :icon_cool:
I was just used to the fast pace of earlier responses... :p

I do realize this messed up extended winter has put constraints on many of us. :(

I'll try to be patient. :smiley_drinkcoffee:
Thanks for the pics! Looks like you really put the side car to good use.
No tunnels in my neck of the woods and I don't feel like digging one!

Nice pic with the Cat equip... is that a Cat bike by some chance?
Works for me... I'm guessing at night it's appears as much a tunnel as a hole through a mountain!

Guess we need to see if it's acceptable to Strom.
Works for me!!
The challenger is happy so it's up to you, Unkle Crusty, to name the next challenge. What say ye?
The Bush Hog hanging on the 3pt oughta be worth some extra points!

There are two 8N's close to me, one just down the road, but the shop was too busy for me to go see if he had it sitting out.

The Garden Center challenge oughta be a piece of cake for about everyone. I'd have to go to the next town over... the one in my hometown closed down.
Doesn't have to be in a big city. My hometown population is approx 7000 and we have a guy that's been running one successfully the last 15 years. He doesn't go out weekends, so I was waiting for today, but will have to see how busy the shop is.

Caught this guy getting ready to go out on his route. He was still parked inside making it hard to get a good pic and he was in enough of a hurry to not want to take time to pull out for a good pic.

Looks good! what was the next challenge?
Had to go back and see what's been done!

Since we're thinking eating places, how about a picture of your bike with at least FOUR fast food establishments clearly showing in the background? Extra points if you can include more.
We do not have any fast food joints on the Island. We have a few slow food places, and couple that are closed on Mondays, and some that are just closed.
Even on the mainland, be there Thursday, I can only think of a couple of places where there are two close to each other.

I'd say you're the better off. Seems like in most places when one springs up, several follow.

A friend of mine who travels a lot always looks for the mom & pop eateries. He says when you want to eat breakfast, go where all the pickup trucks are parked. (Of course this likely only applies in rural areas.) :coffee:
So, for clarification... Is that four restaurants and the bike in one picture? Secondly, do the tall signs of said restaurants count??
Yep... four restaurants in the background beyond your bike. And the tall signs do count. (On the 'fast food interchange' here, I could get six or seven.)

A good trick is to back off from your bike some distance and then use what zoom you have... it'll bring the background in tighter.
So if I go to the bottom of my Island and do the zoom thing, on the city
( Vancouver ) on the other side of the Salish Sea about 20 miles away, I might get it all in.

As long as the signs are readable... go for it! It's going to take a pretty big optic. :icon_cool:
Good job! Exactly the concept I had in mind. Now you get to pick the next challenge. :)
A photo of your motorcycle with a big city, downtown skyline in the background.
Only thing sticking up in my skyline is grain elevators... I'll have to sit this one out. :p
How about my bike, and a bimwubbleyu, and a ferry, plus some ocean, and a skyline.
This is Nanaimo, City of Sails, on Vancouver Island BC.
I am on the Gabriola ferry.

Unkle Crusty* And it was raining.
Looks like you should get all kinds of extra points for this one! :icon_cool:
I am going to assume my latest pic was acceptable.
New challenge:
Your bike with an animal sitting on the seat. Can be a dog or cat or whatever.
A bird would do.

Unkle Crusty*
I figured this one would be over the day after you posted it. I've been trying to coax a squirrel to set on my bike with an ear of corn on the seat but it's not working. :p
