Mileage Issues

Need much more information than this. What make model and year of bike, what kinds of aftermarket mufflers or air breather have been added or is it stock. How many total miles and when was the last full service? And that's just a start. Then what kind of riding and I think you get the picture. We can't see what you have.

What happens to prompt you to fillup? Does the bike run out of gas? Does a light come on? Or do you just decide to take a rest stop once an hour.
What is the capacity of the tank? How much gas are you putting into the tank when you fill up after 62miles? How much gas did you put into the tank when you filled up after 120mi?

I have no idea.
However, sometimes the vent hose from the crank to the air box, allows the crank fumes / mist, to interfere and clog the dilithium crystals. The crystals are not supposed to be there, but there has been some smuggling happening, and that is where they hide them. They usually go undetected, but for some reason some bikes set them off. I suspect it is the type of oil being used. Do you know what oil you are using?
It would also help if you gave a few more details.
And sorry, forgot. It is only the paper air filters that are being used for the smuggling.
Check to see if the filter was made in India or China.

What make and model of bike are you riding? I've never heard of a reserve that gives you an extra 60 miles of range.

The petrol does not have many places to go.
1. In to the engine, where it can get used for running, or down the drain which is the crank case, or out the exhaust.
The float and shut of valve ( needle and seat ) could be buggered, but it may have injectors.
2. Leaks before it gets to the engine.
3. Leaks from the tank.
Check the oil level. If it is thin and smells like petrol, or the level is high, you have too much oil, too much fuel, or too much water in the crank. If the oil is white, you probably have a blown head gasket. But if your engine is air cooled, scratch that.
When you run it on run or reserve, you are hopefully creating a vacuum to draw the fuel from the tank. When you run it on prime, the fuel just free flows. But you did not have the wherewithal to provide any details. You may have straight on off petcocks. Who the hell knows. No one unless you care to devolve some info.

My bike is silver. The frame is black and the engine is silver. But my motorcycle is still silver?

That's just bugging me, I know it is from a tv show, but can't remember which one.

Sounds like a commercial to me.

Also, it does little good to estimate what one's mileage is by guessing. You have to actually divide the number of miles by how many gallons you put in--which is very accurate--every time. Or count how many pigeons have flown the coop--which doesn't help at all.

And another thing can affect your ability to use your gas from the tank easily which is if your air vent is blocked which will cause vacuum in the tank. Some bikes have a vent with a rubber hose from the tank and some could just have a rollover check valve which could be plugged.
