Hope I don't sound unAmerican here but do I fly my flags at half staff on Memorial Day?I would think so right.

Absolutely.

When doing so, always run the flag to the top of the pole FIRST, and then ceremoniously lower it to "half staff."

Remember that if your flag is not illuminated at night, you should take it down.

Never place any flag above it, (State Flags or whatever) and don't let it stay out in a storm (disrespectful).

Never let it touch the ground.

Stuff like that..............

Sadly, the flag code is all but forgotten by most. There are rules that aren't even considered anymore:mad:

http://us-flag.net/code/

How many times everyday do we see this code broken?

"The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard."

Yeah, that one ticks me off as much as these jerks walking on it.
