Great post MONI.

I'd just like to add one thing, and in no way am I belittling veterans for their service.
But, Memorial Day is set aside specifically for those who have died serving our country.
I think keeping that in mind makes the remembrance more poignant and meaningful.

This^^^^^

Veterans day is for thanking those who have served and are still living. I do thank them every day of the year for giving me the freedom to show my respect for the ones that have given the ultimate sacrifice, I don't wait for the one day that is named a holiday.

This weekend is for remembering those that gave all. Unfortunately my normal escorts and ride in's for events I'm forced to stay home. All roads out are washed out. Culverts GONE. So I bow my head and remember their sacrifices.
