I'm looking into buying a 1985 R80RS BMW. I'd like to know if anyone has ideas for lowering the bike. I am only 5'6", with a 29 to 30 inch inseam. What about getting a smaller front wheel? I've had 2 different BMWs in the past , but they were both 600s.

Motorcycles are usually lowered by adding lowering links for the rear and sliding the fork tubes down for the front. A couple inches can usually be subtracted that way.

If you want to go that route, research the availability of suitable links before buying the motorcycle.

Don't forget to consider that the side and center stands may also have to be modified to work properly with a lowering kit.

It can start to get costly for some models.
