In the north we are entering the season of tinkering, doing maintenance we deferred during the riding season, watching videos and reading about motorcycling. Unless you are a southerner, you might check out one of the motorcycle books threads for ideas to help bolster your biker chick spirit and interest in firing up the bike next spring.

I think it was easy for me on my first motorcycle as I grew up on bicycles and driving stick shift vehicles as soon as I could reach their pedals.

How? I have one
The balance and steering are very similar, while the weight of the human-powered machine is minuscule by comparison. The steering and leaning muscle memory gets trained on the key components while on a lightweight, easily managed bike.
