I have some X-11 helmets that have been in storage since 2009. They are in great shape externally however the pads have dried up. Does anyone know where some new pads for Shoei X-11 helmets can be found? It's a shame to throw away such a nice helmet.

I think I'd contact Shoei direct for that old of a helmet. I think I read that you can send a helmet to them and they will give it their official okie dokie if it is indeed crash worthy. And I'm sure they would be the only one that might possibly have pads for such an old helmet. That's what I'd do anyway. I do wonder though, if the pads are shot without any use, just how brittle might the shell be and how crumbly the shock absorbing liner might be. They would be the only one I'd trust the opinion on for sure.

That is the $64,000 question.
My guess? ... The helmet is done for and I'm thinking Shoei will tell you not to use it.
But it would be interesting to find out what Shoei has to say about it.
Please let us know.
