Welcome from Arkansas. That sure is a nice looking bike. One of the first motorcycles I ever rode was a Benelli. Actually there was two of them, a 50 and a 125. But that was way back in the late 60's or early 70's. Don't see many Benelli's around in this area.

Hmmmm...no further comments? Okay.
Both bikes belonged to a cousin. On one bike the exhaust pipe came down on the left side, the right side on the other. He rode in shorts a lot. We didn't know any better. I got burnt too, but I only got to ride the 50.
Anyhow, both of his legs were burnt from contact with hot exhaust pipes.

On the 125 he was learning to do wheelies, until his throttle cable broke. So he took his front brake cable off the front brake, and hooked it up to the carburetor! To give it gas, just squeeze the front brake.

One day mom and dad and us kids were in the car going to his house. My cousin was in the street on his bike. He sees us way down the road and he does a wheelie coming towards us, in the car. He keeps getting closer and closer and closer, still riding a wheelie. Finally dad stops the car! The front wheel come back down to the ground and he swerves, barely missing the front of our car!

He explained when he pull the front brake to do the wheelie, his finger got caught in the gap between the brake lever and the mounting bracket. His finger was pinched in the gap.

That was the last day he rode the bike until the new throttle cable in the mail. His dad made him park it. It seemed like it took forever to get the new cable in the mail, but it was probably less than 2 weeks. :)
