License plate blocker!?

Hey guys,

I know im going to get stuff from just about everyone on this website but im hoping that there is at least 1 person here a little crazier than I am. This is my thought. I want to have somthing to go over my plate at the push of a button or somthing to that effect. I am aware that it is highly illegal to do that but if im riding through bumper to bumper traffic and dont want to get caught, i want to be able to have this option. Has anyone thought of this? I looked online and found alot of photo blockers but i dont want that. I want a full proof shield that blocks all light (such as a metal shield). My thoughts are to glue magnets on the back of the plate, apply hinges some how and have a flip down door or somthing and it will fasten when hitting the magnets. Also was thinking of an instant black out button. If a cover can become jet black in an instant so that nothing can be seen through it. I cant think of how to complete these ideas or how to rig it. If anyone has any crazy ideas please fill me in. and i know most of you are thinking if you wanna do stuff like that, why not just take off the plate? This is because i dont want to get pulled over for no plate, only to have the plate blocked when needed.

eclipse

what you're looking for is called an eclipse. you can find it on 1tail.com i have one and i love it. it has a flaw in its instructions but i can help you with that. its simple and easy to install and with the flip of a switch your license plate is blocked out. i got pulled over by a cop once bc i forgot to turn it on and it was blocked but i was able to flip the switch back when he got out the car, and he thought i had condensation in it, told me to clean it and go on my way. cops dont know what they are and they definitely dont all know they are illegal. i have many police friends and i'm actually leaving for the academy in january and they are so oblivious when it comes to motorcycles. have fun and dont risk your life.

Your dad wants a device to whiz in while riding? You've got a device to block your plate. It must be a genetic flaw? Like father, like son! Please refrain from having children now or in the future!

I am brand new to the world of motorcycles and even i know that blocking plates is about as smart as shoving an ice pick up your ass. Come on man! dont do anything that stupid. I know you think that you are some kind of hardass for weaving through traffic, but so did Ramone down in cell block E and i bet he would love to meet you. Seriously, dont ruin the joy or experience that i'm trying to have starting out by making all of us look like dipshits. THINK BRO!
This tag device would have been on my list when I was young. I did have the tail and stop lights rigged so I could shut them off. We thought out running the cops was a fun thing to do. I guess they still do. Now I wouldn't and couldn't do it.
I saw this one guy driving an Impala with this cover over his license plate that looked liked a louver type cover. I was driving right behind him and I could barely read his plate. You cannot read it from an upper angle.
Obviously a camera wouldn't be able to read this and if I had hard time reading the plates with my own eyes while right behind it, I can see how it would be difficult for the police to even read it.

Perhaps this guy was just an punk idiot that doesn't want his plate read by cameras, but what if he was a true criminal type?

I cannot see how that **** is even legal and if it isn't, I hope the guy gets fined heavily for it.
I was lane-splitting at a red light to get ahead of three cars and make a right turn. There was a cop on the other side; I'm pretty sure he saw me. He didn't pull me over, just drive pass me looking. I'm in Texas, where lane-splitting is technically not allowed. But, I'm getting the impression that it is not enforced here. I would only lane-split when the traffic is at a complete stand-still. Perhaps the cop thought I was doing it responsibly and decided not to hassle me about it.
