I have 2006 katana 600, around 8500 miles, changed battery several months ago.

Just a few days ago, I rode in the morning and when I tried to start it in the afternoon, it seems like running out of battery. So, I jump started the motorcycle and it worked, but on my way home, it suddenly stopped, panel, engine, everything gone blank.

After I recharge the battery and check the all the fuse (include the main), they're normal. When I put the battery in it, the clock works, but once I turn the key to on, everything go blank again, no clock no anything, and seems like when I push the starter switch, the clock come up very dim, when release, blank again. Turn the key to off, clock shows up again.

A few things could cause this:

1) There is a loose battery connection
2) There is a short in the electrical system that is draining the battery
3) The battery is bad and needs to be replaced
4) The charging system of the motorcycle is not working properly

Most of these can be tested or checked fairly easily. A dead short somewhere might be tricky to find.

1. I check the battery connection, they're all clear, no crystal or loose
2. Not sure how to check it.
3. I took it to a shop to recharge it and they said the battery is good.
4. Last time I change my battery, the shop check the charge works fine. Charging is starter motor ? Generator?
