Well I've never heard of a law requiring you have someone ride with you or as a passenger. Doesn't mean there isn't one, I just never heard of one. Been too many years since I got one so it's not something I've stay up to date on. I was basically handed mine anyway. Even getting mine transferred to Texas I was almost just handed it as I went to the DPS office and when asked where I came from, I told them and got ask, you rode all the way from there in December? Guess you pass. I said it wasn't that bad. Only a couple passes had snow and ice. This having a passenger with a new rider sure seems dangerous to me or I read that wrong. Anyway, I think you best bet is the just go to where they do license testing a talk to them face to face. It's much better than phoning or texting or emailing. Each state is different and they are changing all the time. Get the latest from the source. We might say something that has already changed so don't get stuck like that.
