How to hotwire motorcycle ignition

Sure looks that way; if you then need to kill the engine, just flip the engine stop switch to either OFF position. Simple bike - what make/model?
 
Using an Ohm meter, check to see that the wire to the stop switch is not grounded (except in an OFF position). Then check that the stator output that connects to the ICM rings through to ground; shouldn't be 0, but not too high (kOhm). Leave the meter connected to the stator, reset to Volts and give it a kick, looking for a surge at the Voltmeter. Those little connectors are always my first suspects, so make sure the connection to the ICM is clean and tight.
