My Honda CM400 T idles too low. If I take my hand off the throttle, the engine soon turns off. How do I adjust it?

There should be an idle set screw on the throttle control at the carburetor(s). If each has its own, you have to adjust them together, to keep them in sync. Do yourself a favor, and search for a service manual; much easier when you can read a manual and look at pictures.

not a good idea - the cable from the grip should have slack, so the engine doesn't rev up when you turn the front wheel.

Yeah the cable adjustment is for free play.

Usually there is a throttle stop screw down at the carb(s)...it is often plastic-knobbed so that it is obvious. Turn it.
