Hey,

I'm a new "rider" with an old bike. I bought a 1980 Suzuki GS400 and haven't had the chance to ride it yet. Previous owner didn't take as good of care of it as he alluded to. So carbs got a little sticky and when I went to get it running, I flooded the air box. So I'll be on here looking for assistance in repairing the bike. Been having a hard time finding info on the bike so I hope I can get help here!

If anybody has pointers, I'll gladly accept them.

Obtaining a shop manual would be the best first step. That will let you know how everything should come apart and go together when you are working on it.

I've picked up a Clymer manual to help me out. Trying to look up the bike has been a bit difficult. A 1980 Suzuki 400 doesn't seem popular. Can some 450-750 parts work in it as well?

There may be some parts that will work. If they have the same part number, they will likely fit. Most parts will not bolt right up without doing some fabrication or machine shop work.
