Here in Missouri, ofcorse, they have a helmet law, (which I'm not apposed to btw) but we got all these 49cc little scooters running around and they are not required to wear. Whats up with that.
They claim they are not powerful enough or go fast enough to hurt anybody. LIKE HECK! They go 35 mph. Thats as fast as I'm supposed to ride in town, and I gotta wear one. I don't think they even have to license them. They do make 'em have a drivers license, but they don't have to be "M" certified. Even bicycle riders wear little foam lids. These scooters are zigging around in "Real" traffic.
I just had a scoot cut across to make a right hand turn off a 4 lane road from the inside lane, right in front of me and I don't think he even saw me till he was half way across. I got a feeling it's gonna get worse when everybodys riding them

rant over.

It seems odd to me that anyone would be dumb

enough to ride even a bicycle without a helmet.
But if people are stupid enough to ride anything on two wheels, even 49 CC scooters without protection, I say go for it.

As they say; "knock yourself out!"

Yeah, and when they're sittin' on a 49cc scooter, the top of their head Might come up to the level of the hood on a Cadillac Escalade. Maybe a little shorter. And I know the lady driving it can't see 'em while she's talkin' on her cell phone.

I say we do away with all helmet laws and rely on Darwinism to sort it out
Its time to thin the heard folks :D
I'm all for that but perhaps for a different reason.

I'd like to know how a guy who thinks we all ought to wear helmets feels to NOT wear a helmet on the Blue Ridge Parkway when it's 110 degrees standing in the shade. I want to hear him tell me he'd prefer to be wearing his full face helmet.

So on the other side of the coin; I TOO believe you can choose to WEAR your helmet. But I also believe if you've never NOT experienced "going naked" as it were, you can't tell me it's a bad thing. I could just as easily say, "I think it's stupid to wear a helmet on the Blue Ridge Parkway when it's 110 degrees in the shade".
