- I want to design my own hemholtz resonator. I know almost all the things I need to know that go into the design. Resonating frequency, cavity volume, neck. There is a percentage of the cross sectional area of the exhaust pipe that the cross sectional area of the hemholtz resonator neck should be for it to be most effective. In an intake resonator which is the same concept, that percentage would be 44%. But exhaust is way hotter and sound travels faster in heat. Does anyone know what this percentage might be? Any engineers on this forum?
