My clutch went on my moped changed that then after it wasnt working right found out spark plug was loose and got that sorted now it's won't start at took cylinder apart to see if the spark plug had. Done any damage now won't start at all I did the timing right lined everything up lines and holes and all that still won't start thinking off buying whole new cylinder but if that still don't work then don't but I think it's something simple am probably missing maybe valves need adjusting I don't know I got I new carb so I know it's not that and fuel is getting in to the cylinder to as I could tell when I took cylinder cover off was fuel and oil in there so am starting to think maybe electrical

You're probably right about the electrical. Good thing about scooters, it doesn't cost much to replace the CDI and rectifier. Plug and play. That's what I always do, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't but it always eliminates the possibility of that one component being the problem.
Even better to test and measure electrical to find where fault lies and fix only that. By shotgunning pile of parts at it, you're replacing perfectly-working parts with brand-new perfectly-working parts and nothing changes. Problem is this introduces additional variables and extra faults into system. New parts can be bad right out of box. Process of replacing can also damage wiring and connectors.

It's like going to doctor for feeling tired and they:
  • It's probably heart, let's replace it and see if you improve!
  • Nope, heart wasn't problem, let's replace lungs next and see if you get better...
  • Nope, let's try replace all the blood next...

Be prepared to replace every electrical part, even harness and all switches with brand-new OEM parts from authorised dealer. Might randomly replace the one defective part in hundreds that's actually bad without ever knowing which one is was.

Not to worry, it's ok to have lots of spare parts on hand. Sorry but for some of us electrical problems are difficult to diagnose and taking a cheap scooter to a shop will cost more than it's worth. We do what we can to the best of our ability; at home. Backyard mechanics hahaha.
Backyard mechanics will have more success by adopting some practices and procedures used by pro-mechanics at dealerships. Faster and less expensive as well.
Oh Come on Man, don't waste you time Preaching to me.

But we're we really any help at all? What will be your next move?

Not you, OP. Hopefully he learns to measure and troubleshoot before buying himself an entire bike's worth of perfectly-working spare parts before finding problem all along was broken wire. ;)
OK DannoXYZ, I also hope he gets it going again soon too, ready for summer riding. It sounds like he has been trying hard to get er goin again.
Lew, you never actually mentioned if you have spark. Did you pull the plug out, ground it out to the frame and crank the starter over? Any spark? If not then you got to start looking for the reason why.

What year and model are you working on?
Lew, here is a screenshot of the best video I have found for troubleshooting electrical problems on a scooter.
