I just found this picture of my late Father, doing his best James Dean. We are unsure of the date but perhaps around 1955-58. Can anyone ID the bike he is on ?

I agree with Critter about possible Triumph. Looks like something on the fender. Was this taken overseas. That might be one the tags they used back then like this bike has...

Yes, that is a front number plate on the front fender, as required at the time.
