When I had long hair, a ponytail with hair ties every 3 to 4 inches worked, and braiding it with a couple of hair ties near the end worked well also.

You answered a dead thread...No one's posted to this thread in more than three years.

I guess they resolved the long hair dilemma then, didn't they?

Nowadays, I'm having to figure out how to tame the dang beard!

I shave my face and buzzcut my head about once a week.
Problem solved and I save a ton on shampoo too :)

I hear ya, Mike.
But I'm not ready for that, yet. I buzz cut my head since it stopped growing hair, but in the winter, I let the beard go.
The beard is getting quite long this time of year, and I get plenty of Santa jokes, no biggy.
I typically shave it down to a goatee in May, and trim it all summer and let it grow back out after Thanksgiving.

Last May the day before I hit a deer and totaled that bike
But that's typically the longest it gets...

Yeah, the wind used to keep mine about that length too. The coil of wire I started using has allowed it to grow longer now. Amazing how well the wind keeps a beard trimmed.

Ah yes! Nothing quite like snuggling up to my honey and running my fingers gently over the sunburn on her skull!
