1989 Yamaha Virago XV750

My buddy was wiring on an aftermarket headlight bar, and the wire touched the body and now the headlights and spedometer lights are not working

The fuse didn't blow
There is no headlight relay
Yes, the bulb is fine

Half of the fuse ploe (or whatever you call where it plugs in) reads dead

What could it be?
Anyone got a wiring schematic?

Does anything work? If not, there is usually a master fuse, or fusible link. Other than that, search the Internet for a factory service manual. You can also search Amazon.com for manuals. Also, for all things electrical on a motorcycle, this book is great: Amazon link. Cheers!

Are you sure the fuse didn't blow? Fuse can look good but be blown, check it with a meter or stick in a different fuse to try it. No insult intended if you already did this.

Google the service manual for your bike, you'll probably find one free to download somewhere. It should contain wiring diagrams.

Using your meter, follow the power through the circuit, testing along the way, when you find where it stops you have it.
