Thats a possibility too. But on this bike they really are easy to remove. Also its easier to work on them when removed it the extra time isnt an issue, for cleanup as well, if doing a complete degrease and washout as was the case here.Nice!
Just a suggestion though, you don't have to take the forks off the bike to change the seals. You can save time if you do the job with them still in place. Use a piece of PVC pipe just smaller than the 39mm fork diameter and about 3-4 inches long. Cut it in half lengthwise and assemble it to the fork with a band clamp. Put your seals on and use the fork slider itself to ram the seals home against the PVC. Sort of like a reverse slide hammer, if that makes sense.
