149cc qmj new ride less than 5k miles.

Was riding at about 75% speed, accelerated and engine died.
Changed spark plug, now it won't start, no starter pulse noise. Sounds electrical right because there's no starter noise.

However checked oil level, there was no oil in the engine.

What's an easy way to check if it's seized?

Dont know what a149cc qmj is but if has gears, put it in 2nd gear and push it to see if the motor turns over. If not, running it without oil will cause a motor to seize up.

You have to try to turn the flywheel with a wrench and see if it moves freely.Unfortunately running it with small amount of oil you will have damaged the piston and the cylinder at least.If it didn't have any oil at all you have caused more serious damage within minutes after running it .

Yep, the flywheel guy. Turn the flywheel by hand, any dragging felt beyond magnetism attracting the magnets or rising compression is damage and engine can seize up to lock solid, or drag in varying amounts most of which render bike as junk. Can't run them with no oil.
