GS750E 1980

I have problems with my ignitor unit and i found a new one is 600 dls in here canada and my friend have one from his bike but is a suzuki 1982 850 cc i want to know if can i use the 850cc on a 750cc.

doesn't work i have to buy one, the price new from the dealer was 615 + tx
i found a second hand for 150 W/tsx now my GS fly and no smoke
