My '95 KLR 250 coil is failing, my friend says I can use a GM coil. Any idea what model GM coil?? resistance on coil is twice what it should be, either way.

I've never heard of anyone successfully using a GM coil on a Kawasaki. It might be cheaper in the long run to simply replace the coil with OEM.

I used a Dodge Neon coil on my racer project to the left, I think from a 2003 model. It does work really well, but I had to add a 2.5ohm resistor into the primary circuit, otherwise the coil draws an insane amount of power and my bike's charging system can't keep up with it.

I also had to find the space to mount it, and make up a good bracket.

It can work, but it might take some fiddling. It might not be worth the time/money.
