Recently bought a 1980 Suzuki GS550E, carbs arent working properly. I just unstuck the slides and the floats, everything seems to be fine with the carbs, everything is hooked up properly but the carbs are completely flooding everything.... Any ideas??
Sounds like the floats are stuck at the bottom of the Bowl.
Buy an owner's manual and read up on carb rebuild.
It has been sitting and the fuel has evaporated and glued the float down.
Also pull the Jets and insure clean fuel flow.
PS: Read the manual!
You mentioned that you cleared the Floats, but if there is a pinhole, They sink!
You can get a factory manual on Bikecliff's Website (http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/) Middle of the page fifth line down I believe. Carburetor rebuild tutorials are on his site. Check out (O-rings for Suzuki GS850 Mikuni Carbs) cycleorings, for the O-rings. He has O-rings for just about any GS series motorcycle. Those and bowl gaskets are all you will need to rebuild the carburetors + a 24 hour soak of the broken down carburetor rack (no rubber parts) in carburetor dip.
