I had a leaky oil seal and rocky shock performance on my dirt road after replacing the shock tube cap after having mistakenly removed it. I repaired the leaky seal, but the shock is still not working properly. It doesn't damp the shock properly when I'm traveling on my dirt road. It feels "rocky", kind of rattling, a vibration, a little shock, with each hit. I think some internal part must be damaged, but I didn't see any damage when I took it apart to replace the oil seal. Any ideas about what is the problem?
Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. When I replaced the oil seal I emptied the oil, and there was still plenty in the tube although I didn't measure it. When I put it back together I filled the oil and none has leaked out. I think it might be a problem with a part, such as the damper rod or the damper rod spring, but I don't know what to look for.

Well, the wrong quantity or viscosity of oil in the shock will effect how the front end feels.
