want to remover the carb unit from my 97 Yamaha radian 600' but following the Clymer repair still leaves not enough space to pull the airfilter box and battery box back enough to pull the carb unit out. the air filter box bumps into the frame. bike won"t fire up, so I figured maybe the carbs should be cleaned. I ment my 1987 radian.

push the air box as far back as possible (not very much) and pull the carbs back towards the air filter and away from the engine.. should pull all the way out from the engine side boots... then angle it so the front of the carbs clear the engine side boots and rotate and twist the carbs out... not fun at all, but after about 5 times, you can do it pretty quick! replace the engine side carb holders if theyre all cracked while youre at it... its worth it! and much easier to put the carbs back in and avoid vacuum leaks.
