I'm am looking for some advice on my first bike. I want a vintage bike and have found a 1972 yamaha ds7 250. I really like this style of bike. No doubt it's in good shape. I'm wondering if being my first bike, will it be tougher to ride at the beginning? I read somewhere that someone said a bike like this would be tough to learn on. With being my first bike, any advice from experienced bikers is welcomed.

Nothing should be any more difficult, just as long as it runs properly. Consider also that dropping your first bike is almost inevitable. I always pass this onto my friends and they say, "Oh no, I won't drop it", and down it goes. Some avoid the tragedy, but most go through it.
If you like vintage styles, as much as I hate promoting anything but Yamaha, Triumph has a decent vintage look to them. You can probably find a good quality used one for a low price. Either that or Royal Einfield.
I say drop those bikes, then get your badass vintage Yamaha.
