Test Drive Unlimited remains one of my favourite all time games. You can travel the entire island of Oahu (not just unfaithful recreations like in other games) in an extremely expansive variety of cars and motorcycles. A full trip around the map was like 220 miles. To this day I haven't played a game with a map that huge. Aside from the map, the magic of the game was playing online. It was the first (and to me, the only) mmo racing game with 80 players per server. It wasn't uncommon to get into 30+ car/bike drag races down the Interstate.
The sequel improved on the physics engine and made offroading possible, but the vehicle list and bugs were so bad I can see why it never got a third entry.
