I was getting tired of looking at my saddlebags that were turning purple from sun fade. I picked up a can of Duplicolor gloss black vinyl and fabric spray and tried it on my bags. The stuff works like a champ. Before:

It certainly works as advertised.

Got it at Advance Auto $7.59 for the spray can. I wasn't sure if I wanted the gloss or flat black. I looked under a strap where it had not faded and it looked a little shiny. Gloss was the right choice. I used some metal duct tape I had gotten that turned out not to be very good cut in half long way to mask the reflective piping, full width for badges, handles and fasteners. I'm very pleased with the results. Hope it helps. It certainly turned back the clock on the bags and it doesn't look ratty anymore. I can't afford $169.00 every couple of years for new saddlebags.
