My take on this....
I spent way too many years riding bikes that had piss poor lighting.
With the coming of BRIGHT LED lights, I am in heaven.
I'm not talking about the colored show lights. I'm talking about really BRIGHT headlights, and strobing brake lights.
I upgraded my Goldwing's lights to LEDs all around, as well as extra driving lights and brake lights.
For the first time in my 50 years of riding, I can actually SEE the road ahead, and be sure that people behind me can see me as well.
Are all my lights "legal"?
I don't know and don't care.
Haven't been stopped for any of them yet.
I'll worry about that if or when it happens.
One "legal" point that comes to mind is this.
In New Jersey, extra driving lights are, by law, supposed to be wired to the low beams.
What the F***?
Why would I want my really bright lights to go OFF when I switch to the high beams??
My driving lights are wired to the high beams.
When I switch to low beams, they turn off so they don't blind anyone.
Stupid law.
