Hi !
I have a 2017 Honda Rebel 500, nice bike, I like it
But I am curious about how much it would affect a new muffler pipe on it. Worthy?
Besides, you can find them from under 100 to over 500 bucks. Big $ difference, so I assume
a 300 bucks muffler is better than a 80 bucks one... BUT how come, why?

Some guidance about this matter, please?

Honda has always made quiet mufflers that offer the best performance. It is possible to buy mufflers that make more noise, and less performance. Some quality brands will make a bit more noise, and a bit more horsepower, but they will not be cheap. You will also need to put it on the dyno to analyze things.

I think I'd be careful changing one. With todays bikes and EPA requirements, many require back pressure to run well. So without a way to retune as well you might end up with a bike that doesn't run at all. And being a 2017, you might have one of those that would need some retuning. That $300 muffler may end if costing 3X that amount. Plus all the frustration of a poor or not running bike to boot. Check your dealer out. They should know what you can get away with. Should being the questionable point.
