I have two TW200 bikes and on the trails you got to learn to balance cause sometimes there's no ground to put your feet down. A little practice and in no time you can do it for 30 seconds.
Sure , with those fat tires .,,,,. Try riding on a telephone post , laying on the ground .., . This is in my teaching drills ..., Fun for all ...,I have two TW200 bikes and on the trails you got to learn to balance cause sometimes there's no ground to put your feet down. Make a video of yourself, stopping without putting a foot down on your phone; go to court and show the judge?Come to a STOP sign & stop but keep your feet on the pegs? Back in high school (long ago) we always tried to keep our feet on the pegs when we stopped. Just for fun. We got good at it. Well a friend did that & got a ticket. He told the cop he stopped but the cop said "No you didn't, you didn't put a foot down." But I stopped! "Boy I can double the cost if you keep talking!" After that whenever we were all in a car & stopped at that location we opened all the doors, put a foot on the road, then continued on. Just for laughs. Sometimes I still stop feet up but I watch for cops when I do. Anyone else been ticketed for this? Curious if it's common or just in my little one horse home town.
Great fun , takes lots of talent . And practice ....,This is a good discussion ~
Not quite coming to a complete stop (IE : wheels stop rotating) used to be called a 'Milk Stop' as the milk delivery guys (and us farm boys to be honest) often jumped out leafing the truck rolling slowly in first gear .
As a new rider 60 + years ago I was well pleased to discover I could keep my feet up for long periods of time .
I never got a ticket but I know many who did, sometimes the badge is giving to an insecure person .
I could balance on a log in water as a child but riding a Moto across one, I've never even tried .
Oops ! dinnertime !
Spent some time riding in the city the other day and found myself doing just this A LOT.No, we don't. We teach a ""pause and go", where you all but stop, not putting your feet down ( pause), ease out the clutch, and go. Yes, it's like a California stop, but its proper use is yields, stop-and-go traffic, and timing lights to hit the green while still moving.
