Can you be more specific in reference to "high revs"? I think that bike has a cdi controlled rev limiter. If the bike is completely stock the top speed is around 60-65 mph, and I think the rev limiter kicks in at around 6500 rpms.
I'm also curious why it has a new carb? Was the bike parked for a long period of time?

The bike does have a Cdi unti I replaced the carb as it was hard to start and thought that it might cure the problem, the bike worked well last summer but then developed this problem. It starts and idles well now until ridden which is when the problem occurs. Thanks

The more specific you can be the better the chance we can help.
Is this happening as soon as you put it in gear, or at high rpms while riding? (At what rpms does it occur?)
Is the bike completely stock except for the carb being replaced?
Are you running fresh fuel and clean filters (in-line and in-tank), and air filter?
Did you have this particular problem before replacing the carb?
Factory carb replacement or Chinese knock-off carb?
