Hello all,

I am new to the forums here as well as new to the moto side of life.

I am interested in buying a KTM EXC500 hopefully by the end of next weekend if prices and negotiations go as planned.

I am trying to figure out if this price is adequate or if I should continue to shop around.

I have been quoted, by several dealers, on the price. So I will use my best quote as the lead example:

MSRP:$10,499

Dealers Price: $9,805
Freight Charge: $450
Build Fee: $400
Sales Tax: $745
Tag Fee: $99

Total Price (OTD): $11,500

(This is what I was given via email)

If you veterans know anything that can help me negotiate with this guy and get an even better price (closer to MSRP) I am all ears.

You could probably negotiate the build fee off the price. That's basically just extra profit for the dealer.

It is like buying a car. The first story you get from the salesman is just what he would really like to get. It is not close to the final price in most cases. At the very least that assembly charge needs to go, then you can start to haggle.
