I just rebuilt my 2007 cr 85. I put a new crankshaft and piston in it. It was my first time ever tearing down the motor. I did everything step by step so I would not forget anything. Now the bike will not go into neutral. When it is in neutral the crankshaft still turns and has compression. Any ideas?

This is a dumb question, but if it won't go into neutral how are you getting it into neutral when it is? Sounds like a mis-adjusted shift fork.

The bike will shift into neutral but it still has compression when it is in neutral.
:confused::confused:Exactly what does that mean? Do you mean it has a neutral light that come on but it is in fact still in gear? Neutral is not a pressure relief valve. So I'm confused now.

If you didn't have compression, your engine won't run... the tranny has nothing to do with it. Why do you think the crankshaft shouldn't turn when in neutral...
