hi people. i have a 1983 nighthawk 650. I have a clutch with new primary and secondary cylinders rebuild kits installed. I was able to build pressure during the bleed process and i think i can feel the rod being pushed by the secondary cylinder but it won't engage. There is about a 1/4 inch of play on the lever then it encounters pressure and pushes the rest of the way til the lever hits the handle. I took off the clutch cover and checked the plates. All plates seem to not be worn down, and all teeth and edges look ok and none of the plates are sticking together. I'm at a loss.

if the clutch plates can separate easily when you pull them in and out can they still be stuck when the push rod is moved by the secondary cylinder? I took the clutch plate cover off and everything looked ok. i didn't try pressing the clutch lever while the cover was off cuz i figured that the secondary cylinder piston can move too far?
