Chain Lube, or Wax

i use a scottoiler automatic oiler on both my bikes, with scottoiler non fling oil - exactly the same oil as chainsaw oil, in fact chainsaw oil is probably cheaper.
it only dispenses oiul when the engine is running, approx 1 drop per mile - i have mine set up to drop oil onto the rear sprocket carrier and centrifugal force drives it out to the chain links.

surprising how far 1 drop a minute goes, and the reservoir lasts me approx 400-500 miles before a refill. (approx 125cc of oil)

it's not wise to grease your chain as it makes abrasive dirt stick to it, oil is best.
saying that, depends what you use your bike for - if you do a lot of dirt riding, you chain will probably last a lot longer if you use a dry ptfe & graphite spray as dirt will not stick to it and you can brush or hose the chain down without removing the lube.

o ring chains prefer oil though.
