I recently purchased a 81 Honda CM400C and this is my first motorcycle build project. I’m just curious for a solution to a problem. The front brake lever won’t compress at all and just wondering what the problem is and how to solve it?

A C model, so it should have a disc brake on the front, right? Start at the reservoir; it could just be the brake fluid has turned to goo, and you will need to disassemble the master cylinder to clean it out, along with the line to the caliper and the caliper itself.

When I bought my '98 Valkyrie, the brakes and clutch worked, but, when I tried to refresh the brake and clutch fluid, I found I was lucky that they did. Reservoirs were full of something like Vaseline. I cleaned them out, and flushed the lines several times, to get the fluid coming out clean. Obviously, the fluid had not been flushed every 2 years, as is recommended.
