I’m a new rider and new to the mechanics of a motorcycle.I am having an issue with my brake light staying on. I have a 1989 750 Intruder. I can’t seem to find the back brake adjustment that I keep reading about that might be the issue. Could someone please help me find it?

First, have you checked the wear indicator on the rear brake? There is a line on the shaft the brake lever bolts to, and it points to a curved line on the brake plate; if the brake is worn too much, it may not return the pedal enough to push the switch back open.

If that's OK, I can send you a page from the service manual in PDF format, if you PM me an email address. That page includes the pedal adjustment.

BTW, the switch is on the RH side, just behind the transmission, and above a thin chromed cover.

Pages are on their way. BTW, try adding your general location, so we all know if one of us can offer first-hand instruction.
