Cleaned the chain after the last ride
Had to take it out to dry before I WD40 it

WD40 for the chain? Is that just to keep it from rusting before you install it and then put true chain lube on it? WD40 would be the bottom of the list for chain lube in my book. But maybe I'll learn something new today as well.

I ride a lot in dust/sand conditions
I use WD40 as a lube with great success
Wax seems to collect a lot of dust and form a grinding paste
Clean the chain after every dusty ride with Prepsol and then clean with water, very seldom use high pressure sprayer
I mix 20% Prepsol with water
Spray it on all over the bike
Leave it the shade for about half an hour and rinse
As good as new
But, keeping it in the shade is vital to prevent stripes that stays permanent

Well that's very interesting. I agree with the dust creating an abrasive much like sandpaper. Very interesting solution though.

Um, uh, I'll advised shortcut to Monteverde Park, Costa Rica. This is why I dont do ride reports very much.
