Hi everyone,

So I just bought my bike about a month ago and now I Am all of the sudden having problems with it sputter very badly. It's a 2003 Harley Davidson sportster 1200. Screaming eagle exhaust. The bike runs great at first but then I will turn it off and start it about half an hour later and not even a mile down the road it is sputtering and lurching down the road. It backfires very loudly, (and I do believe it's backfiring and not just popping of the custom pipes) and it wants to stall out unless I let off the throttle and then try again. It seems to happen in 2nd and 3rd gear when it climbs to higher RPMs. I recently changed the oil, spark plugs, and put some fuel treatment in it to clean out the carb. I thought it might just be water in the fuel but I changed the gas and it didn't seem to help. Do I need the bike rejetted or is there another fix. I don't want to hurt the engine more than I may already have. Please help
