i'm kinda new to bikes and i was wondering if there is anything i can get for my bike so if i go down the bike won't get too messed up

For a sportbike, go on to ebay and look up

do the sliders really help the bike from getting messed up or does it depend

depends on the bike I suppose - on my Derbi GPR50 I've unfortunately dumped it twice in three days. Bent the rear brake pedal and scraped the right handlebar end, that's about it. Not a scratch on the extensive fairings.

Yes they do work. They keep the shiny stuff from hittin' the pavement or at least keep it from getting beat up too bad.
