Motorcycles are bicycles with motors. Bi is two. Tri is three. If it has three wheels, it can not be a motorcycle. It can be a tricycle.

However the folks that make the rules, may think differently than me.

At the moment, I get on the ferry as a motorcycle, even when the sidecar is attached. Did it today. Anyone can tell it is a motorcycle. BUT, these three wheel Spyder things take up more room. If they try and claim to be a motorcycle, then the cage drivers will cry foul. They take up about as much room as a cage. They will lose any bike privilege, and I might too.
As far as the ferries are concerned, I think they should be considered a cage, and pay more, and wait in line. I will attend a ferry meeting if the issue becomes a problem. UK
