97 Duke KTM 620 supermotard with a new FCR 41 carb. 14k miles.

Asking $3500, fair price?

KBB has the price at 3100 (sans the carbs), so that seems fair

but

NADA has the average at $2100.

Any advice, much appreciated.

Compared to the Kelley and NADA prices, it seems kind of high, doesn't it?

Are those retail or trade in values you listed?

Retail prices.

It's a CL listing, so I know people post a little higher assuming a haggle. He says the Carb is brand new and just had it jetted in August (1k price on that, he claims). I mean, if the paper work on that is legit, maybe I could knock it down to $3200-$3300, yeah?

It was $1k to jet it? That seems odd to me.

A jet kit for the Ninja 250R is around $80 and I would guess labor for a shop to do it would be a few hours.

Blue book prices are just a guideline. I'm not familiar with the FCR carb, or why it would make the bike $1000 more valuable.

Personally, I wouldn't pay above retail price for a bike, especially from a private party. I suspect he'd only get 1/2 of what he is asking on a trade in. I guess the real question is if it's worth that much to you.
